National Provider Identifier About Building the Case for RHIO

Building the Case for RHIOPerhaps the single most difficult aspect of building a RHIO is getting all of the stakeholders to see one vision for the organization.

Second in difficulty is articulating the business case in precisely the correct way to persuade public and private funding sources to provide the money for startup and for at least a period of initial operations. The process of building the Case for Support involves all the stakeholders, and gets everyone on the same page.

This webinar brings together the real-world business development experience and RHIO finance expertise of Healthcare IT Transition Group's Michael Christopher to offer a step-by-step process to create that most crucial of documents, the Comprehensive Case for Support.

The Comprehensive Case for Support - Key to Consensus and Funding
The Case creation process delivers an encyclopedia of the organization, setting forth its vision, saying what it currently is doing and how, and where it is going. It encompasses a discussion of the business plan, revenue model, stakeholder/membership profile, demographics of service, service offerings, challenges overcome and yet to be surmounted. Running as many as fifty or one hundred pages and citing important public documents and initiatives to associate the RHIO with broadly supported initiatives, a Comprehensive Case for Support forms the body of the RHIO's argument for its existence, a wealth of ready-to-paste, agreed-upon language for immediate use in stakeholder encounters, grant requests, legislative visits and myriad other internal and external applications, and is the single point of truth for a large scale project. It should not be confused with the three to five page abbreviated Case for Support shared with most funding prospects and the community at large. The comprehensive case is responsible for much more than this one fundraising purpose.

The process by which the Case is written is just as important and valuable as the document itself -- perhaps more so. The Study/Meet/Case™ method will be described in detail as one of the most effective methods of capital development and achieving sustainable funding in the nonprofit sector.

Drawing upon 20 years' experience in organizational and capital development with an emphasis on IT projects, the webinar's presenter is uniquely qualified to help RHIO organizers through the creation of a dynamic and effective Comprehensive Case for Support. The Case development process is outlined, including techniques for bringing community leaders and funders into the fold and shaping their visions as one through this proven method adapted from successful capital development projects in numerous segments of the nonprofit sector.

This webinar is designed for RHIO administrators, trustees and finance personnel, RHIO technology vendors and advisors, government leaders and funding organizations to help them understand both the financial challenges and the successful solutions facing RHIOs. The sessions provide an opportunity to ask questions following the presentation.

While the focus here is on RHIO, other large-scale health IT and health technology project organizers will find the webinar's information equally useful.
