National Provider Identifier About "RHIO Funding Strategies "

In 2006, fifty U.S. RHIOs participated in the first national survey of RHIO finance, reporting financial information, stakeholder leadership and their financial participation over the lifecycle of their organizations, from startup through the mature production stage. The survey, developed and conducted by Healthcare IT Transition Group, probed for information on financial leadership/management, as well as contributed and earned revenue participants and methodologies, at each lifecycle stage. The data suggested that some of the conventional wisdom is unfounded when RHIOs are examined from a financial viewpoint.

Click to learn more about the 2006 Survey of RHIO Finance...This online seminar puts the real-world financial experience of 50 RHIO projects within your grasp. Hear and ask questions of the survey report’s principal author, and discuss RHIO startup funding, trading partner financing, and earned income strategies. Learn about the funding resources for RHIOs and other health IT projects – some of them virtually untapped – and the emerging RHIO business model. Not only are grants available from public sources such as the Health Resources and Services Adminsitration (HRSA), AHRQ and oters, but also many prvate sources.

The survey team learned how RHIO startup is funded, how RHIOs are faring in their efforts to reach financial sustainability, and where the money is coming from. The study report -- the first U.S. study to focus on RHIO finance -- is among the most-downloaded content in the Healthcare IT Transition Group webspace, and has been covered extensively in the media, including AMA News, Government Health IT, Healthcare IT News, NHIN Watch, Modern Healthcare, iHealth Beat, The Informatics Review, Health Data Management and numerous other news sources.

Topics will include RHIO startup funding, trading partner financing, earned income strategies, funding resources for RHIOs and other health IT projects – some of them virtually untapped – and the emerging RHIO business model.

This training is designed for RHIO administrators, trustees and finance personnel, RHIO technology vendors and advisors, government leaders and funding organizations to help them understand both the financial challenges and the successful solutions facing RHIOs. The sessions offer actionable business intelligence to RHIO organizers and their trading partners, and provide an opportunity to ask questions following the presentation.
